The complete details for the NASA discount (same applies to the Redstone Arsenal) are as follows:
The U.S. Space & Rocket Center is offering a special discount for selected educational programs for NASA’s employees. This summer, active and retired NASA employees, along with employees of NASA’s support contractors, will qualify for a special $300 discount when enrolling their children or grandchildren in Space Camp or Aviation Challenge.
The Space Camp program uses a space-science curriculum to stress the importance of science and math. Among their many hands-on activities, trainees prepare for and carry out a simulated space shuttle mission. Aviation Challenge focuses on the science and physics of flight, with training modeled after that of a military aviator.
Camp programs are available for children 9 to 18 years old. This limited time offer for current and retired NASA employees and the employees of their support contractors is based on availability and includes all tuition, room and board. The discount applies to the six-day Space Camp and Aviation Challenge Mach I programs for 9- to 11-year-olds, the six-day Space Academy or Aviation Challenge Mach II sessions for 12- to 14-year-olds and the eight-day Advanced Space Academy or Aviation Challenge Mach III programs for 15- to18-year-olds.
Reservations must be made no later than July 18, 2008, and children must attend by Aug. 22, 2008. Use the code “CRD8” when making your child’s reservation online, in person or over the phone.
